Lecture: “New insights about the physical chemical characteristics of the kinds of water in the Amazon: subsidies for the limnological classification of the main Amazonian rivers and for water resource management” with Eduardo Antonio Rios-Villamizar INPA – BRA – Dec/04/2019
It happened on Dec/04/2019 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included professors and students of PPGBN, undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA, and also representatives of the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI).

It happened on Nov/21/2019, in UNILA - campus Jardim Universitário. The event was organized by PPGBN and the audience included representatives of the Subtropical Biology Institute (IBS - ARG), The Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) and the State University of Londrina (UEL), professors and students of PPGBN, besides students from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity.

It happened on Oct/30/2019 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. Lecture "Nacional Museum: 201 years" by Dr. Pedro Guilherme de Souza Dias (UFRJ - BRA) – Jul/26/2019
It happened on Jlu/26/2019 in campus Jardim Universitário – UNILA and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included representatives of the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI), UNIOESTE (Cascavel and Pato Branco), professors and students of PPGBN and also undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

Short-term course: "Biological Invasions: state of the art and development of teaching material about the issue" by Dra. Dalva Maria Matos (UFSCAR/UNILA - BRA) – June 20th and 21st 2019
It happened in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included representatives of Itaipu Binacional (PAR), of Faculty of Forest Sciences (ARG), State Department of Education (SEED – PR), National University of Missiones (UnaM – ARG), National Park Administration (ARG), UDC/Anglo (Foz do Iguaçu), and also students of PPGBN and from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

III Seminar in Neotropical Biodiversity – June 18th and 19th 2019
PPGBN promoted the event on June 18th and 19th 2019 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and the following professors participated in the evaluation boards: Santiago Velazco (IBS – ARG), Gustavo Zurita (IBS/UnaM – ARG), Lívia Temponi and Neucir Zwinwelski (UNIOESTE), Dalva Matos (UFSCAR/UNILA), and also Fernando Zanella, Lucas Aguiar, Wagner Chiba and Elaine Soares, professors of PPGBN. There was also the participation of students from PPGBN, from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA and from UNIOESTE (Cascavel).

Lecture: “Collective Personality in the Azteca-Cecropia Mutualism” by Dr. Peter Reilly Martin – May/02/2019
It happened on May/02/2019 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included professors and students of PPGBN and students from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

It happened on Aug/20/2018 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included representatives of USP, UFPR, União Dinâmica Cataratas (UDC), professors and students of PPGBN, and also students from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

Workshop: “Building Graphics in R” by Dr. Neucir Szinwelski – UNIOESTE – BRA) – Aug/02/2019
It happened on Aug/02/2019 in campus Jardim Universitário - UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included professors and students of PPGBN, students from the undergraduate course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA, representatives of the Botany Institute of São Paulo, Itaipu Binacional and the Institute of Environmental Studies – Mater Natura (Curitiba).

III International Symposium of Ecology (SINECO)
The event happened from Septembr 26th to 28th 2018 in Auditório do Centro de Visitantes of the Iguassu National Park (Foz do Iguaçu), and it was divided in three theme days: Evolutionary Ecology, Numerical Ecology and Applied Ecology, with three lecturers on each day, so there was a total of nine lecturers in the event. At the end of each day there was a round-table debate integrating all the issued approached in order to deepen the discussions on each topic with the three lecturers and a mediator, Professor Dalva Maria da Silva Matos, of UFSCar who works in PPGBN – UNILA as well. PPGBN contributed to the organization of the event which had the participation of professors: Dalva Maria da Silva Matos, Fernando César Vieira Zanella, Hermes José Schmitz, Luiz Henrique Garcia Pereira, Michel Varajão Garey, Pablo Henrique Nunes, Rafaella Costa Bonugli and Wagner Antonio Chiba de Castro, who directly worked in planning and organizing the activities. The event also had the participation of internationally known researchers such as Dra. Anne Magurran ( University of St Andrews) and Dr. Nicholas J. Gotelli. The audience included professors and students from several parts of the country who presented their work and exchanged experiences.

Lecture: “Project Falls: cultivating waters” by Felipe Pacheco and other researchers – INPE – BRA) – Jul/18/2018
It happened on Jul/18/2018 in campus Jardim Universitário – UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included professors and students of PPGBN, undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA, and also representatives of Itaipu Binacional, UNIFEI, INPE and UNESP.

II Seminar of Neotropical Biodiversity – Jun/08/2018
PPGBN promoted the II Seminar of Neotropical Biodiversity. The event happened on June 8th 2018 and the examination boards counted on the participation of Dr. Heleno Brandão (UFPR), Dra. Mariana Villagra (IBS – ARG), Dra. María Paula Tujague (IBS/UnaM – ARG), Dr. Juan Ariel Insaurralde (IBS – ARG), Dra. Carolina Miño (IBS – ARG), Dra. Júlia Ronzella Ottoni (UDC), and also Fernando Zanella, Alexandre Vogliotti, Peter Neto, Michel Garey and Hermes Schimtz, who are professors of PPGBN. There was also the participation of PPGBN students and undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

Lecture "Genetics applied to the conservation of neotropical birds” by Dra. Carolina Isabel Miño (IBS/Conicet/UNaM - ARG) – May/07/2018
It happened on May/07/2018 and it was given by Dra. Carolina Isabel Miño (IBS/Conicet/UNaM - ARG). The event took place in campus Jardim Universitário – UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience included representatives by Itaipu Binacional (BRA), Parque das Aves (Foz do Iguaçu) and professors and students of PPGBN, besides undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA.

XXXII Brazilian Congress of Zoology – Feb/25 to Mar/02/2018
It happened from Feb/25 to Mar/02/2018 and the theme was: “Challenges and Perspectives for zoology in Latin America”. The event was meant to promote a fruitful discussion about the integration of people from different countries in order to advance research and conservation of the animal diversity of the Neotropical Region. The theme is considered to be essential to a three border region such as ours, where there is a great natural and cultural diversity, and at a broader scale, it is considered to be important to Latin America as a whole. The scientific schedule included eight lectures by internationally reputed researchers and 17 symposiums on specific themes, and it covered relevant themes for Brazilian Zoology. A total of 1441 participants took part in the event and 1235 papers were presented, 219 of them in oral sessions. The event was organized by the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity and by the Master’s Degree Course in Neotropical Biodiversity with the Brazilian Society of Zoology, (SBZ), besides researchers from other universities of the state of Paraná.

Lecture: “Patterns of vegetation structure across heteroneous forest landscapes” by Karen Harper – Dalhousie University – CAN) – Mar/01/2018
It happened on Mar/01/2018 and it was given by Dr. Karen Harper da Dalhousie University – CAN. The event happened in campus Jardim Universitário – UNILA and it was organized by PPGBN. The audience was formed by professors and students of PPGBN, undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity of UNILA and representatives of UNIOESTE (Cascavel) and UDC (Foz do Iguaçu).

Opening Event of PPGBN – Oct/19 and Oct/20/2017
It happened on Oct/19 and Oct/20/2017 in campus Jardim Universitário – UNILA, and it was organized by PPGBN. Authorities of Itaipu Binacional, PRPPG and ILACVN (UNILA) participated, as well as professors and students of PPGBN, and undergraduate students from the course of Biological Sciences – Ecology and Biodiversity.
